Hyosung GV650 Aquila
To quote MCN; The Hyosung GV650 Aquila is an oddball Korean concoction whose extreme Dan Dare styling is surprisingly more than matched by its consummate ability, specification and value – for a cruiser at least. Look past the GV650 Aqulia's Star Trek styling and there’s a decent SV-style engine, quality cycle parts and effective, real world performance – and not much to rival it.
This is my own bike, and one of the most common questions I get asked is "why that one?" To answer that, how many of these do you see at shows or on the road? I've always been drawn to the unusual and this is about as unusual as you can get without going into the realms of exotica.
The seat was reupholstered by the fantastic CMSeats in Coventry, the exhaust is a Pro-Race slip on from an Aprilia RSV Mille. The air filter has been replaced with a one off I made myself using a Ramair panel filter, and the wheels have been shotblasted and powdercoated 'Bronze over Chrome' by Maldon Shot Blasting & Powder Coating Ltd. Finally there is a Power Commander V to control the fueling and some RFY shocks at the rear to keep the rear in check, fondly referred to as N'Ohlins.
Great on the straights and the twisties alike, with comfort in spades.
