If I had the cash: Moto Guzzi Bellagio
A monthly feature on the blog, what would you buy if you had an endless supply of cash burning a hole in your wallet?
Moto Guzzi have always had something that no other manufacturer has, maybe it is something to do with the engine being mounted the wrong way, or the Italian flair in every machine they design, all I know is the incredible draw their bikes have on me, chief amongst them being the Bellagio.
The Moto Guzzi Bellagio was a far from common muscle/cruiser produced from 2007 – 2012, with a list price of £6,999. Definitely not fast as far as bikes are concerned it was generally well received but failed to really make a dent in the other Italian staples market share (looking at you Ducati).
Styling cues include a bulbous fuel tank, mid pegs and matte black paint, a love it or hate it affair. Power comes from an ‘incorrectly’ mounted 935cc, 8 valve, air cooled v-twin. Shaft drive ensures maintenance free riding for years to come.
You’ll struggle to find one for sale in the UK now, as they have a but of a cult following and owners tend to keep a tight grip on them. To anybody looking to sell theirs, tell me first!
