If I had the cash: 2018 Indian Scout Bobber
‘If I had the cash’ is a monthly feature on the blog where we look at a motorcycle I would buy if I had the means necessary. What would you buy if you had an endless supply of cash burning a hole in your wallet?
Indian Motorcycles has been a mainstay of the custom scene for eons, but even they are not immune to the rising trend for modern retro machines. As a result, available for sale at the end of the year is the Indian Scout ‘Bobber’.
The word Bobber is a brave one to use, as it is usually reserved for the custom scene. It is however, with the success of the Triumph Bonneville Bobber, becoming a far more common word on fuel tanks. If anyone can emulate Triumphs success it has to be Indian, right?
On first impressions it is safe to say that they have nailed it, the Bobber is a handsome bike.
The Scout Bobber gets is built around the 1133cc v-twin engine, with 94bhp, and includes smaller mudguards, lowered suspension plus a revised riding position. The handlebars are a new ‘tracker’ style, while the foot pegs are moved back by an inch. The rear suspension is then dropped by 25mm and bulky tyres fitted as standard. The whole package is wrapped up in a blacked out paint job.
In conclusion, if I had the cash I would buy an Indian Scout Bobber in a heartbeat, would you?
