The Happening 2017
On Saturday 16th September I will be making my way to Chalgrove for a very special event. The Happening is a custom motorcycle festival that I thoroughly enjoyed last year.
An annual event hosted by Twisted Iron,The Happening seems to get bigger and bigger each year. The ticket price is a very reasonable £15 on the gate for the Saturday, with a weekend ticket costing £25 (including an amazing t-shirt, one which I will be adding to my collection).
The Happening has some of the greatest custom motorcycles around, ranging from custom shop built masterpieces to handmade shed builds. Anyone arriving on a bike could have their bike parking on the grass area outside the main event marquee, and are then eligible for all trophy categories.
Trophy categories are as follows:
- Extreme Performance Modified
- Best Styling
- Best Paint
- ‘Work in Progress’ (WIP)
- Best Engineering
- Best In Show
- MOB Rule
A trophy of contant interest, the MOB Rule trophy is voted for on the day by the public and not a panel. The MOB Rule trophy is a unique piece of art created especially for the event each year. This years trophy is a custom painted fuel tank, and a truly beautiful piece of art.
I think you’ll agree that the MOB Rule trophy looks stunning.
All proceeds raised at event and the auction will go to the nominated charity ‘The Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance’.
Friday will see bands take to the stage in the evening and the Show Tent beginning to fill up. Saturday will be the Bike Show, The Happening charity auction, various stalls, painters, bike builders and more on show, followed by live music in the evening.
